Santa Ana, CA (March 31, 2010) – Dedication. Allegiance. Service. Americans expect those characteristics from our military personnel, and we reward and recognize our enlisted men and women for their commitment to our country. Occasionally, however, a non-military citizen is recognized for those same characteristics, for going above and beyond what is expected to accomplish a job. Recently one of those citizens so honored was a Centerline driver from northern California: Aaron Meyers.
Meyers was presented with a military challenge coin by Keith Hagenbuch, director for Defense Commissary Agency West (DeCa) for helping commissary store associates perform their duties to speed up the receiving process. Meyers, while not an active military member, is often on-base through his work as a Centerline driver assigned to Coastal Pacific Food Distribution Northwest, distributor of groceries and other commissary items to military bases on the West Coast. It was recommended that Meyers be given the coin by Victoria Best–Rush, zone manager for DeCa Northwest & Alaska.
Meyers drives on behalf of Coastal Pacific Food Distribution, a distributor of groceries and other commissary items to the military bases throughout the West Coast and the Far East. Mike Eveler, CPFD GM was on hand to congratulate Meyers. “It is very rare that an outside contractor would receive such a distinguished honor,” said Eveler. “It shows you how impressed they were with Aaron’s dedication.”
“We ask all of our drivers to go above and beyond,” says Centerline Director of Business Development Ruthanne Roper. “And we’re very proud when they’re recognized for that dedication.”
